I am multidisciplinary artist. Born in Iran 1965, lived in Sweden since 1983. Studied film and animation, graphic and Illustration, art history and communication in various schools and universities, including Stockholm University of the Art and Konst Fack. Worked as a teacher, lecturer, film producer and worked within advertising and television. In 2019 I became a member of Studio44, an Artist-Run gallery in Stockholm. In 2022 became a member of the Artist-Run gallery and space Slipvillan and also member of The Swedish Association of Curators.
All my artistic activities, my photographs, my artworks, everything has its core in spaces around and between people’s everyday lives. In a wider perspective, the invisible that plays its politics, its agenda, its nature to define mankind, to define humanity in a world of a unknown-universe. And I’m just a part of it all. Though, these pieces of work, if they survive the everyday storms, in future they will be the results of what I saw and what I did. Then I’m done with my part of the story.
My artistic process moves among constructed structures. I am looking at how and for what purposes these structures have been formed and how humans navigate, mentally and physically through these structures. Also how memories that are filtered through these structures are reformulated over time where physical distance plays a large role in a process of constant change.
Experimentation in my processes is closely related to my own personal experiences and observations. I usually work with materials that I have at hand and have access to at the moment.
My expressions in the form of installation, photography, moving image, film, sculpture, graphic works and painting often carry a poetic and philosophical undertone. I allow my stories to determine the choice of medium for the final work.

Our three-year collaboration with the theme “Dark Matter” ends where we begun; at Studio44 gallery. It was the most rewarding process I have ever been through and a fantastic collaboration with Penja and Jannike. I am so grateful.
”The universe has its own rules in every corner of space in different ways. Scientists are trying to understand these rules. Rules that affect life on Earth. Technology advances, the answers to many scientific questions create further questions about the great mystery called the universe and maybe they even find the answer to why we are here on earth! On the other hand, we have turned the earth into a killing field! The meaning of the word "existence" is redefined to "to cutting air with a knife"! Me: I wonder if I can paint the infinity?” - M. 2024

How to deal with all these sorrows? Far too many loved ones have passed away in recent years. Heavy grief follows! I continue my daily routines. With sadness penetrated deep into my soul, I will always think of them during my daily routines; routines and discussions that sometimes feel pathetic and irrelevant in every imaginable aspect you can think of.

Each of us has to relate to what seems to be the ignorance of our time before a future that is approaching with increasing speed. Being clueless in today's information society is almost a paradox or self-chosen blinders. Perhaps ignorance can be seen as an utopian state we lost a long time ago. The term inevitably refers to "the other" as the clueless. In Slipvillan's garden, the birds are still chirping, the bumblebees are buzzing and the lilacs are blooming. The exhibition allows us to guess a little more. Welcome to Långholmen.
